We are so thankful to receive your donation. As an affiliate, Milwaukee Habitat has tithed over $1,000,000 to Habitat for Humanity International. Our tithe means for every Habitat house built in Milwaukee, at least another is built somewhere else in the world.
More that 96 cents of every dollar donated in 2007 went to the actual building of Habitat homes. If you would like to see the "2007 Annual Report" for Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity, you may download it from our Download page.

Planned Giving Many of our partners support Milwaukee Habitat through planned gifts, which may qualify for significant tax deductions. Giving options include bequests, charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder trusts. In addition, there are various planned or deferred giving programs which permit you to make a large gift, of either cash or stock which has appreciated in value. As you plan for your future and the security of loved ones, Habitat has a variety of giving options that will allow you to make a meaningful charitable gift.
- Real Estate and Securities
Tax regulations on gifts of securities (stock, bonds, mutual funds) allow tax deductions on the basis of present market value, regardless of the amount originally paid. As a result, donors may realize a substantial tax savings by contributing appreciated assets.
- Bequests
A bequest is a gift made through a will. A will assures that your property will be distributed in accordance with your wishes. You may choose to leave Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, the residual estate after designating other beneficiaries or a contingent bequest if your beneficiaries do not survive you.
- Trusts
A charitable remainder trust will reinvest the principal and pay interest. You receive the trust income for life after which the remainder will go to Milwaukee Habitat and you receive an immediate tax deduction.
- Life Insurance
Both new and existing insurance policies may be used for gifts. Life insurance makes it possible for you to give a sizeable gift through the contributions of relatively small premiums.
"Our Federal government recognizes that donations to religious, educational, charitable, scientific and literary organizations have contributed significantly to the welfare of our nation; and the tax laws are designed to encourage such giving." ... IRS Publication
