On Thursday, December 18, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity staff, board members, volunteers and sponsors helped to dedicate and bless the houses of Pat Washington and Amy North.

Amy’s house is the first full-gut rehab project that Milwaukee Habitat has conducted in over a decade. Thanks to the sponsorship of The Harley-Davidson Foundation and our partnership with the City of Milwaukee, this previously abandoned foreclosure is now a beautiful five-bedroom house that Amy and her five children are proud to call home, and they’re thrilled they can move in just in time for the holidays.
Through the Habitat homeownership program, Amy and Pat both contributed hundreds of hours of sweat equity into their homes. Over the course of the year, they worked alongside our staff and volunteers on construction and rehabilitation–receiving rave reviews from everyone for their dedication and enthusiasm. They also completed a financial education program and participated in several community events.
Now, they’ve joined more than 500 local families in becoming Milwaukee Habitat homeowners, and we look forward to partnering with them for years to come. Our organization is delighted to finish a productive 2014 by celebrating with Amy and Pat and their achievements.
