When you donate a car, truck, boat or RV through Habitat’s Cars for Homes™ program, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity receives 100% of the net proceeds of your vehicle donation. These proceeds are used to bring affordable homeownership opportunities to local families.

What happens to your donated vehicle?
Your vehicle will be sold through a national network of diverse venues on behalf of Habitat for Humanity. After the car has been sold, you will receive an acknowledgement letter thanking you for your support and providing the vehicle sale information. This letter may be used as a receipt for tax deduction purposes; additional tax documents will be provided when required by IRS regulations as a result of the sale value of the vehicle. 100% of the net proceeds from the sale are returned to Milwaukee Habitat to support our mission.
Junk vehicles donated to Cars for Homes are recycled, saving energy and resources. Recycled cars are sold to direct buyers and hulk haulers who prepare them for processing into recycled steel.
