On Friday, November 17th, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity is excited to announce it will open its third ReStore!
“ReStore South,” Milwaukee Habitat’s newest resale store and donation center, is located at 4150 S. 108th St, Greenfield in the former Bartz’s Party Store location.
All are invited for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30am on Friday, November 17th, followed by light snacks and refreshments as ReStore South opens its doors for business! Greenfield Mayor Michael Neitzke will join Milwaukee Habitat Executive Director, Brian Sonderman, and others in the opening ceremony.
ReStores have become one of Milwaukee Habitat’s largest fundraisers to help local families in need of safe, affordable housing. Each year, more than 12,000 donations of furniture, appliances, cabinets, and building supplies are resold to the public at Milwaukee’s ReStores with proceeds benefiting our mission. Last year alone, Milwaukee’s two ReStores (in Wauwatosa & Walker’s Point) sold more than $1.5 million in donated product to help Habitat build safe, affordable homes.
Not only does ReStore raise significant funds for Habitat’s mission, but they divert roughly 5 million pounds of usable materials away from local landfills each year. In fact, Milwaukee’s ReStores even offer a Deconstruction Services team which salvages usable materials from residential and commercial properties prior to rehab and demolition.
