We’re back with another edition of Good News Tues to spread a little joy from our Habitat family to yours. We’re all in this together. Here’s hoping this brings a little light to your day.
Overcoming Eviction
Haynie Smith faced significant uncertainty early on in his adult life. It’s a symptom of unaffordable housing that’s known all too well in our city: eviction. Even though Haynie was paying his bills on time, his landlord wasn’t. Imagine having your life turned upside down in a moment’s notice, and to no fault of your own.
In this week’s Good News Tues, hear how Haynie overcame these struggles to ensure his family would never face something like this again.
Watch Haynie’s Story
During these difficult times, many of us take solace knowing we have a safe, stable place to call home. But for families struggling with our city’s affordable housing crisis, this pandemic has made matters even worse. December 1st is Giving Tuesday, a global movement to do good. Will you join us in making sure more families, like Haynie’s, can build strength, stability and independence?
This Giving Tuesday, you can make safe, affordable homeownership possible for future homeowner, Precious. We need to raise $22,000 to cover the cost of the materials to build her Habitat home. In a time when having a safe home is more urgent than ever before, we need your help.
