Need Help With Your Spring Cleaning?
Spring cleaning season is upon us – whether we’re ready or not. But don’t fret, Habitat for Humanity ReStore – Habitat’s resale stores and donation centers – are here to help you clear out the clutter. Whether it’s to make room for a new chair or a brand new kitchen, Habitat ReStore accepts items ranging from appliances and building products to furniture, home goods, and household fixtures such as lighting and cabinets.
Donated items can be brought to any one of our stores/donation centers in Wauwatosa, Greenfield and Franklin during normal store hours. Got large items or a whole bunch of stuff? ReStore can even handle the heavy lifting for you, with our free large donation pickup service. Donation pickups can be requested instantly online here. You can also call our donation hotline at 414-316-5651 or email pictures of your donation to restoredonation@milwaukeehabitat.org.
Right now, our ReStores are in need of smaller items that can be dropped off like tools, home décor, housewares, outdoor and gardening items. You can see a comprehensive list of the items we’re in need of here. In order to be able to resell items, we do ask that they be in good condition and fully functional.
ReStore resells these items to the public, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to build affordable homes in our community. Not only can your donation help local families build or repair a place to call home, but we can help give your quality, usable items a second life.
In fact, if you or someone you know is remodeling or demolishing, ReStore even offers Deconstruction Services. Their specialty is salvaging kitchens – watch the video below of how they can salvage an entire kitchen in just a couple hours. The team also salvages items from entire homes on up to projects like the Bradley Center. Our experienced team has salvaged more than $4 million worth of items from local homes and businesses since 2012. Find out more and request a free assessment here.
“Every item donated and sold at the Habitat ReStore is a building block for a local family in need of an affordable place to call home,” said Brian Sonderman, Executive Director at Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity. “This year alone, we are growing to build 30 brand new, affordable homes for first-time buyers and completing affordable repairs for an additional 40 to 50 existing homeowners. Donations to ReStore are going to be crucial to making this happen.”
This year, let ReStore give you a hand with your spring cleaning. From small home goods on up to whole kitchens, ReStore is your solution for those quality items you no longer need.
