Growing Up Habitat

Kweku’s parents purchased his family’s Milwaukee Habitat home when he was in middle school. Now 17 years later, he’s reflecting on the impact Habitat homeownership had on his life and writing letters to Habitat supporters. Read them and watch his story below.

A Stable Foundation

I hope you are well!

My name is Kweku-TeAngelo Cargile Jr.

I’m privileged to have lived in a Habitat home. That experience created a foundation for my family and me that I can never repay.

My time in a Habitat home set the precedence that I would also own a home. My wife and I stepped into that process this year! It is one of the best investments we have ever made.

I can’t wait to pass it down to my children.

Your support would also create that experience for another family. That experience sets a desire in those families to want and aspire for more.

Who doesn’t want to support that?

Homes Create Safe Spaces

As an advocate for youth development, we must pour into the next generation. They have experienced significant barriers due to COVID-19 that still linger.

We need to identify new ways to engage and build their confidence and career pathways. Your support creates unique intangible impacts that, similar to myself, supported my goals and aspirations.

Your investment in these homes create safe spaces for young people to learn and grow, and they could be the next leaders of our communities!

Who doesn’t want to support that?

From,

Kweku -TeAngelo Cargile Jr.

“A Privilege”

I hope you are doing well.

My name is Kweku-TeAngelo Cargile Jr.

I’m privileged to have lived in a Habitat home.

Being the oldest of five, space was always an interesting thing.

Having a home and a neighborhood I knew I could move around in was a privilege.

I know that space supported my mental health and gave me solace when I needed it.

Your support is needed; it is a timeless gift, and you know, through my story, that your investment will impact generations to come!

From,

Kweku -TeAngelo Cargile Jr.
