The need for safe, affordable housing has only been amplified by this pandemic and we’re immensely grateful to all of those individuals who have supported our work both in person and virtually.
While things can always change you can find our current list of safety protocols here: Milwaukee Habitat COVID-19 On-Site Safety Protocol.
As of Tuesday, March 1st, Milwaukee Habitat will follow the new CDC guideline of relaxing masks for healthy people. This is alongside their directive to be vaccinated and boosted. Director Walensky follows that by saying, “Anybody is certainly welcome to wear a mask at any time if they feel more comfortable wearing a mask”.
As always, anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should stay home, not enter Milwaukee Habitat buildings or work sites, and contact your supervisor for further direction.
While Habitat has returned to having volunteers in all areas please note the following:
Construction Individuals: Because of COVID’s impact on staffing availability, we are only onboarding a limited number of individual volunteers. We expect additional orientations to be scheduled in the fall.
Youth: 16 & above can volunteer in both construction and ReStore. Please note that we are accepting youth groups only at the ReStore and on a case by case basis. We are not yet scheduling 14 & 15 year olds at the Restore. Note OSHA prevents us from scheduling those under 16 at the construction sites.
Global Village International Volunteering: Habitat International is not yet scheduling groups to volunteer at our international partners.
Group volunteers: Construction team sizes are still being impacted by COVID; however, group volunteers are currently being scheduled for all areas.
