Erika’s First Christmas in Her New Home

Tomorrow marks a special milestone for Milwaukee Habitat homeowner Erika as she celebrates her first Christmas in her new home. Hear from her as she prepares to enjoy the holiday in the warmth and comfort of a place she can call her own.

“I am SO looking forward to the holidays in our new home! We got all brand new decorations and we even decorated inside and outside the house early in the season! It looks very festive! 

We are planning to celebrate with a nice dinner followed by hot chocolate and watching Christmas movies. We always open gifts Christmas morning and just enjoy each other until guests arrive and it is time to eat. We have a few friends and family coming by this year. Many loved ones have passed away that kept the traditions going in the family so we are hoping to start our own this year. I am not 100% sure what those will be just yet.

It means the absolute WORLD to me to be celebrating the holidays in our brand-new home! I am so elated to have the space to decorate and make the house exactly how I want it to. It is so heart warming for my son to be able to witness this and assist in helping put everything up. He was very excited to see everything lit up. Next year I am excited to put lit up reindeer and a Santa on the roof! But for now I am satisfied with how everything came out!“
