We’re back with another edition of Good News Tues to spread a little joy from our Habitat family to yours. We’re all in this together. Here’s hoping this brings a little light to your day.
‘I’m just trying to really build my roots’:
At 21, Shema Mosely is one of the youngest people to qualify for a Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity home

Shema Mosely held a Bible, a wooden cross and dozens of congratulatory cards in the living room of her new home on North 25th Street.
Family members, friends and about a dozen Habitat for Humanity volunteers surrounded her. They joined hands in a circle and read the “Litany of Life,” a prayer dedicated to every new homeowner in the program.
“This is a place where I know I can put my roots down,” Mosely said. “This is my home and I can’t wait to move in.”
At 21, she is part of a new trend: Young, single people turning to Habitat for Humanity and other agencies for help in buying a home.
