“The first Christmas in our Habitat home felt magical! We had our first official Christmas tree with the presents under the tree. The boys and I were so happy, and it truly felt like home.
The boys and I usually spend Christmas together at home. This coming year we are going to Arkansas by my parents to celebrate together. We do the typical holiday traditions since we moved into our house like put up the Christmas tree, bake cookies, eat a special meal on Christmas and open presents, watch movies, and drink hot coco in our matching pajamas.
It means everything to me and my boys having a beautiful home to celebrate all holidays and birthdays in. It feels cozy and heartwarming to be able to have the blessing of a home to call our own and make forever meaningful memories in. This is one of my proudest accomplishments yet and the level of happiness my sons share since moving into our home will always be something I can smile about and reflect on.“

“Our first Christmas in our Habitat home was great, we purchased a fresh Christmas tree which made our house smell of fresh pine. The fragrance was amazing and it smelled like Christmas.
We celebrate Christmas by first going to pick out a fresh tree, picking a color scheme for the ornaments. We only put white lights on our tree and figure out what flavor Christmas cookies we’ll make. A holiday tradition we’ve created since moving into our Habitat home is matching pajamas for the entire family on Christmas Eve.
What it means to have a home to celebrate the holidays in is family gatherings, good food, and laughs. It’s a wonderful thing to have a place where we can all get together and fellowship.”
