On Friday, May 3rd, Milwaukee Brewers Ryan Braun teamed up with future Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity homeowners to build a safe, affordable home in Milwaukee’s Midtown neighborhood. Braun spoke in front of a large crowd of volunteers who were on site to construct seven new construction homes being built on North 29th and 30th streets off of North Avenue.
Immediately after, Braun traded his bat for a hammer as he worked alongside future Habitat homeowner, Gchiann, to construct her home.
Brewers Community Foundation and Ryan Braun are sponsoring Gchiann’s future home. The build is part of Midtown 100, Milwaukee Habitat’s initiative to build, rehab and repair 100 homes in the Midtown neighborhood from 2018-2020. This ambitious project will create the highest concentration of affordable, single-family homes built in Milwaukee since WWII.
