Habitat Gala Raises Half a Million Dollars for Affordable Homeownership
On Thursday evening, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity hosted the annual Framing the Future Gala from inside their early 20th century woodshop. As Milwaukee Habitat celebrated 40 years of building homeownership, the event welcomed over 325 attendees and raised $504,100 to build safe, affordable housing in our city.
Framing the Future Gala, presented by BMO Harris Bank, is Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity’s largest annual fundraiser. This year’s event was chaired by Matt Burow of Three Leaf Partners and Catalyst Construction. The funds raised are crucial to Milwaukee Habitat’s work to help local families break down the barriers to first-time homeownership.
The event highlighted the progress that Milwaukee Habitat has made since its founding in 1984, much of which is due to supporters like those who attend the annual gala. Attendees quickly met – and exceeded – a $75,000 challenge match from Accunet Mortgage contributing to the third highest fundraising total in Framing the Future Gala history.
As the evening concluded, the generosity of the community not only celebrated Milwaukee Habitat’s past, but also ignited hope for a future where everyone has a place to call home.
